Tuyen “Twin” Ngo wins Event 9 at WSOP Circuit Season 6 in Chicago

WSOP Circuit winnerVietnamese born American Tuyen “Twin” Ngo took down a field of 106 to win Event 9 of the WSOP Circuit Season 6 Opener in Chicago. The event was a $2000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em and for his hard work Twin won $56,126 plus a much coveted gold ring.

Although there were no circuit ring winners at the final table there was a WSOP bracelet winner. Will Durkee won the $2000 buy-in no limit hold’em event in 2007 and for his troubles won a staggering $566,919. To date he has cashed 7 times at the WSOP and amassed winnings of over $700,000 from the biggest event in the tournament calendar. This was however Durkee’s first ever cash at the WSOP circuit and he eventually finished in 8th place winning $6,815.

When play began on the final table Twin was lying in 3rd place behind joint chip leaders Gary Datro and Drew Youngblood.

Datro eventually finished in 6th place while Youngblood went on to play heads up with Tuyen. Tempers flared when neither player could settle on an agreement to split the final place money and with Youngblood holding a 3 to 2 chip lead over his opponent he seemed even more determined to take down the top prize. As spectators shouted support at both players the chips went back and forth until after 45 minutes of heads up play both players were all-in. Youngblood held A 6 and found himself in trouble as Twin turned over A Q. Neither player hit and the queen gave Twin the title. For his part Youngbloog took home $36,079 but will be disappointed after giving away his chip lead.
