Ruben Sanchez Cebollada Wins Unibet Open Barcelona

Ruben Sanchez Cebollada of Spain has won the second live Unibet Open event of 2011 taking down €145,000 for his victory at Gran Casino, Barcelona this weekend.

Cebollada was the last person standing of the 387 entrants in the €1,650 buy in event which created a total prize pool of €551,500. He took over three hours heads up to defeat his opponent Davor Pavic of Sweden.

The Spaniard started the heads up dual as chip leader but Pavic battled back to reach parity then take the lead. However Cebollada would prove no push over and he surged back into the lead. By the time blinds reached 80,000/160,000 only two flops were seen in 25 minutes of poker.

The final hand came when Cebollada was just marginal chip leader but holding Ad 9 h and his opponent waking up with Ac 7c they both got their chips in with Pavic behind and facing elimination unless he could improve.

The board fell Qh 10h 9d As 4 s and Cebollada was crowned Unibet Open Barcelonachampion 2011.
