PCA Main Event Crowns Champion

After 6 days of play the PokerStars.com Caribbean Adventure Main Event saw its youngest ever Champion crowned. At 19 years old Harrison Gimbel takes home a staggering $2.2 million. known online as “gibler123″ he is more notably known for his grinding play online. The ex-high school wrestler was confident after winning a $1000 live satellite to gain entry to the main event. He credited his coaches teaching after winning the event. Because of his instruction he had learnt to visually the win in his head long before he had been crowned champion. The poker pro had previously been in business school in Florida but after falling behind decided to turn hiss attentions to poker full time.
When it got to heads up Gimbels opponent was Ty Reiman. Gimbels opponent played well but the eventual winner never lost the chip lead and when it came to the final hand both players were all-in before the flop with pocket pairs. Reiman’s 8′s were no match for Gimbels 10′s but the last hand had more drama to throw at both the players and the audience. The competition looked over as the flop showed 10 6 2 giving Gimbel trips. However the turn showed an 8 and with both players now holding trips there was still a card in the deck that could save Reiman. It didn’t come and as the J dropped to the felt it was over. The runner up took home $1,750,000 and the year saw its first million dollar prizes awarded.
