Jeff Boudreau finished top of the pile in Event number 8 of the WSOP Circuit Season 6, Chicago. The 27 year old pro won the Pot-Limit Omaha with Re-buys event after 16 hours of play spread over 2 days.
117 players entered the $200 buy-in tournament with 464 re-buys throughout. This averaged out at around 4 re-buys per player which meant that each player’s investment stood at $635.
Boudreau had played days earlier at the casino and lost nearly $17,000 playing pot-limit Omaha so was very pleased to end a rollercoaster few days with a win that sees him back in the black.
Eric Rindal was the chip leader going into the final table with 190,000 sitting in front of him while Boudreau sat in fifth place with around 100,000.
Of the final 9 at the table only Mike Foster was a previous WSOP Circuit winner after winning the $1,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em event at the same venue last year. Foster struggled to find cards or form when play began at the final table and he left the tournament in 9th place.
When it got down to three handed the remaining players made a deal although the details were undisclosed.
With 8 of the 13 events now played at the Horseshoe Casino the total entrants stands at 3,372 up from 2,943 at the same point last year.
With the main event starting tomorrow officials expect the numbers to rise even more with prize money also up 11 percent from last year.
