EPT London Leg
The EPT London leg is in town and is already proving a spectacular event as so many of the world’s big player’s are in town for the WSOPE.
In a new twist the tournament is being held at the London Hilton Metropole hotel but registration and management is still coordinated by the Grosvenor Victoria Casino poker team and of course Thomas Kremsner and staff as tournament directors.
The Hilton actually providdes a ch better setting for the event as the ballroom is much bigger and the event has a Rio WSOP feel about it. High ceilings and properly marked and logoed tables that are spread out add to the occasion.
The EPT kicked off with several tournaments running simultaneously, this gives you an idea of the size of the room, one was the £20,000 (wow) buy-in high-roller event and the other was a £1,000 NLH six-seater tournament.
Yours truly once again entered the £1,000 event but thanks to Scandinavian magic my JJ was beaten by 7-4 on a flop of 774. I raised 3 times the big blind pre-flop but he still called and of course I pushed on the flop and he snapped. Lets just say I wasn’t expecting to see 7-4 and that I was not so happy either but you pays you money and you can play how you want. In the long run you get more out of these players than you lose.
I will let you know what happens in that event not that I really care too much anymore!!
Running alongside our event was the £20,000 Buy-in (Wow – I know I said that already!) tourny. Amazingly it drew 75 runners creating a prize-pool of £1,500,000. Eight of the starting 75 will be paid, with the winner taking £542,000.
Prize-winners will appear here as and when they are known. The final table is scheduled for Friday.
