La Ronda wins EPO
While most of the poker world has its attention on London with the WSOPE taking place at the Emppire Casino in Leicester Square and the EPT London leg imminent at the Grosvenore Victoria Casino, a newcomer event, the English Poker Open was taking place September 15th to 17th in the UK’s biggest card room Dusk Till Dawn, Nottingham. Brit Dave La Ronde took the championship and also came home with £208,367!
The final table players and their payouts were:

The main event had two starting days in which many pros such as Doyle Brunson, Annette Obrestad, Liv Boeree and recent European Poker Tour winner Marc Goodwin participated. Players could either buy their seats directly (buy-in $5300) or qualify via satellites at several different online poker rooms.
Perhaps we will see Dave La Ronda bring part of his winner’s cheque to buy-in to the WSOPE Main Event which starts next week. Meanwhile the WSOPE £1,000 NLH event is underway and Day b starts tomorrow.
