A total of 89 players are through from Day 1a of the PokerStars.com EPT Tallinn, from today’s starting field of 181 players. Right up among the leaders is suave Italian Team PokerStars Pro Luca Pagano who holds the record for EPT final tables (6) and overall cashes (14). He will be back for Day 2 on Friday with 124,900. Also running strong is French Team Pro Arnaud Mattern who has 103,600 and is currently lying in tenth place. The current chip leader is Ali Tekintamgac from Germany with 203,200.
New Finnish Team PokerStars Pro Ville Wahlbeck, playing his first EPT in PokerStars colours, was down to less than 5,000 chips at the dinner break but clawed his way back to a respectable 68,800 by the end of the day. A bunch of other Team Pros also survived: Ivan Demidov (80,100), Joep van den Bijgaart (61,900), Michael Keiner (58,800), and Alex Kravchenko (28,400).
At least 144 players are already registered for Day 1b and among those set to play are Team PokerStars Pros Katja Thater, Dario Minieri and Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, Team PokerStars SportStar Fatima Moreira de Melo, PokerStars-sponsored Jens Thorson (brother of William) and Team PokerStars Online players Alfio Battisti and Luca Moschitta from Italy.
The €4,250 EPT Tallinn Main Event is running August 11-16, 2010 at the luxurious Swissotel in the Estonian capital.
