2008 WSOP Final table goes under the Hammer

The 2008 WSOP final table is set to be auctioned online as the World Series of Poker and XP Events offer poker fans official merchandise on WSOPshop.com.

The WSOP final table produced yet another action packed main event conclusion this year. Peter Eastgate and Ivan Demidov went into the heads-up battle late on Monday knowing that history could be made. For Demidov it was a Russian record. No Russian has ever gone so deep in a WSOP main event. For Eastgate it was an age record. He smashed Phil Hellmuth’s 19 year record to become the youngest ever winner of the WSOP main event at the age of 22.

Now poker fans have the chance to be part of the historic 2008 WSOP main event by owning the poker table that the very final was played out on.

Ty Stewart, WSOP Director of Marketing commented; “Owning the WSOP final table is the ultimate bragging rights for any home game player. This is the first time the general public have had the chance to bid on authentic items from the World Series of Poker main event. We expect the auction to generate lots of interest from our very passionate poker fans.”

The WSOP are teaming up with XP Events to offer the table. XP recently signed a multi-year contract with the WSOP to become the official retail merchandising operations partner. XP Events will run the WSOPshop.com web site.

Alan Fey, XP Events President said; “The WSOP final table is one of the most highly anticipated sporting events of the year. Fan will be able to log on to the WSOP store and begin bidding for the table as well as other WSOP branded merchandise.”

The WSOP final table auction is set to end on November 24th.
